Bulgaria is in accord to the latest trends in the European tourist market

Millennia-old history, colourful folklore, preserved nature, state-of-the-art seaside and mountain resorts are Bulgaria’s image projected to the world as partial to the European tourism patchwork.“Tourism is the face of Europe in the eyes of the world, and Bulgaria is one of the countries that add unique charm to that face,” Arthur Oberascher, chairman of the European Tourism Commission (ETC), said during a meeting of the top managers of the European tourist organizations in Europe that took place in Sofia. For two days the experts discussed the trends in the sector, and ascertained that Europe was the world’s most frequented tourist destination.

Bulgaria is a member of ETC and has made serious contribution to promote the opportunities to do tourism in Europe.. “We have to be able to advertise and sell Europe as a single tourist destination, if we want to be competitive with the other regions in the world,” Arthur Oberascher Oberascher said. For this reason a year and a half ago the Commission launched an Internet portal – visiteurope.com, where every one of the 39 member states is able to promote its national tourism

The latest trend in the sector is to develop various forms of tourism targeting people with more specific interests. Bulgaria is no exception to this rule and is developing better and better in the field of tourism.
